Moving Day, and plenty of visitors

It’s been busy times at the orphange the last few weeks! 
The orphanage has just moved to a new rented house, as the area they were in previously was becoming dangerous, the house was expensive, and the landlord was not treating them well. Some of the children were quite unsettled by the move too. This just further highlights the need for these kids to have a permanent home they can call their own.

The kids’ school recently decided that they needed new uniforms, for who knows what reasons, also that they needed a few sets of everything so they would have to wash their clothes all the time. Slightly annoying and expensive but I guess that’s what schools are there for a, to tell us what to do.…

Volunteer Report – Masha

Arriving in Nepal was both hot and cold, stressful and peaceful. Hot days and interactions with the beautiful Nepali people were accompanied by freezing nights and the stress of getting around without getting ripped off.  After spending some time in the wonder of Kathmandu city, rooftop restaurants and learning how to say ‘Namaste’ and ‘Dhanybhad’…

Poker for Nepal

  Compassion Nepal held a Poker Night in Wellington recently. We raised heaps of money towards land for the new orphanage. Fun times were had and awesome prizes were won!
