Our first New Zealand employee

Hello everyone, my name’s Will and I’ll be working for Compassion Nepal now! This is a new eventuation for us, so I thought I would tell you about myself and what I want to achieve in this part-time role. First and foremost I will work to advocate and gain support for the work CN does in Nepal.

I first went to Nepal in 2008, with a group of ten friends from the same church. It was this group that made the initial connection with Dev and Maya who run Compassion Orphanage in Kathmandu. Here’s a photo of us in a boat (I’m the one with the beard):

I was also part of a trip in 2012, where we visited Kathmandu again, as well as seeing Dhan in Pokhara and going to Dev and Maya’s home villages in Gorkha and Dhading (this village was badly hit by the 2015 earthquake). Here’s a photo Jeremy (on the right) and I at the Kathmandu orphanage:

As you can see I have a special connection with Nepal, and with the work CN does. I also have a Masters degree in Development Studies so I hope to implement that too.

CN does amazing work supporting Nepali’s in their work, and I look forward to seeing it flourish.

    Hello Will,

I too have a big heart for Nepal. I worked for doctors without borders doing earthquake relief in Upper Tsum Valley. God has always been calling me to Nepal. I would love to go back to work more permanent. I pray God blesses you with strength, stamina, and all the gifts of the spirit as you do your work. I will keep you in my prayers. God bless- Autumn
